Reporting on the Dec. 2, 2015 terrorist attack in San Bernardino has been the most challenging task of my career. I worked around the clock that week, covering the attack as it unfolded from the scene. In the months and year after, I covered the aftermath.
I didn’t get bylines for much of my coverage that day and in the days after, since it was a group reporting effort. Here are a few of my bylined stories from the attack and the aftermath:
COVERAGE
- SAN BERNARDINO SHOOTING: Caught in shootout, officer finds ‘will to survive’
- SAN BERNARDINO SHOOTING: Inside the suspects’ Redlands townhouse
- SAN BERNARDINO: San Bernardino terror attack counselors ease grief, but they also suffer
- SAN BERNARDINO: Delayed response to dying child reveals growing issue
An example of my ability to contextualize breaking news.
